Seven's Schedule is Packed to the Rafters
Editorial Review
If you're craving some quirky family drama, make sure to park yourself in front of your television on Tuesday, August 26: that's when Channel Seven will premiere its highly anticipated Australian series Packed to the Rafters.
Similar in tone to Seven's Logie Award-winning dramedy Always Greener, Rafters stars Rebecca Gibney and Erik Thomson as Julie and Dave, a long-married couple who are looking forward to having their home to themselves after their three adult children finally move out.
But a series of unfortunate events ensures that the family is quickly reunited forced under the one roof - with the addition of Julie's father Ted (Colin Firth), who's mourning the recent passing of his wife.
"It's a real slice of Australian life," Gibney enthused about the series. "All the drama and humour is incredibly real and true."
"There's nothing like it on Australian television at the moment," added Thomson, who previously starred on Seven's series All Saints. "It's about family and love."
A sneak peek at Packed to the Rafters' first episode indicates that the series may indeed live up to the hype.
Packed to the Rafters premieres on Seven on August 26 at 8.30pm.

The role of Ted is played by Michael Caton but I'm sure he'd be happy to be confused with Colin Firth! :)
