Michael Jackson died suddenly at his Holmby Hills home in LA. Paramedics were called to the King of Pop's LA home to find the star not breathing and without a pulse. Rushed to UCLA hospital, Jackson was not able to be revived despite extensive attempt.

Jackson is survived by his children, Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince (Blanket) Michael Jackson II.

One of the world's most famous people, Jackson leaves behind a legacy of timeless pop hits including Thriller, Billy Jean, Beat It and Bad. He gave the world the Moonwalk, revolutionised music videos, made wearing only one glove look cool, sold hundreds of millions of albums and earned himself the title of King of Pop.

He was also a troubled man. He embraced cosmetic surgery to a freakish degree, turned his skin from black to white, faced court on child molestation charges and wore a mask in public. For these efforts he earned himself the unenviable title of Wacko Jacko.

No matter whether you're a fan or foe of Michael Jackson, 25 June 2009 is undoubtedly a sad day for music.
