The Olive Tree
Editorial
You may not have seen it, but everyone in Perth has heard of it. The family-owned Olive Tree Restaurant is located in the bustling business suburb of West Perth yet manages to maintain a peaceful setting on a quiet street. In an area where it is not uncommon for old character homes to be converted into restaurants, The Olive Tree has done so in its very own romantic Edwardian style. Clothed tables and chandeliers give the impression you may be underdressed, while the natural injection of tortured willow and fairy lights at the entry helps soften the mood.
The menus at The Olive Tree are a little different from other restaurants. Although a full a la carte menu is available, the set menus are what this restaurant is known for. The set business lunch includes two or three courses, while set menus for dinner can include up to five courses. The food itself does not vary a great deal between these and the a la carte menu, with no more than six choices on each. Classic dishes such as chicken supreme, catch of the day, veal parmigiana, and steak and mash keep your decision making easy and the chef organised due to the limited selection of dishes. One thing is certain though, this restaurant is extremely well priced.
