Bistro Felix
Editorial
Subiaco is known as one of Perth's premier suburbs for clubs, pubs, designer boutiques and fine dining. So when Bistro Felix opened its doors on Rokeby Road a few years ago, locals and food fanatics wasted no time booking reservations at what is now regarded as one of Perth's greatest restaurants. This much-talked about and reviewed venue has every bragging right. From the sophisticated interior decorated with dark wood, framed European prints and crisp white table linen to the impeccable standard of service, Bistro Felix is in a league of its own. But it doesn't stop there. Dishes that focus on fresh seasonal produce ensure regular menu changes and the introduction of innovative new creations featuring local and rare ingredients.
Predominantly modern Australian, there's a distinct European influence evident in chef Damien Young's cooking, with dishes from the stuzzichini menu being the clearest evidence of this. Designed for grazing as you enjoy a pre-dinner drink or peruse the rest of the menu, the stuzzichini selection offers something for everyone, from marinated olives to grilled Rottnest Island scallops. Once you've whet your appetite and settled into the ambience of Bistro Felix, it's time to prepare yourself for the main event. Pot-roasted Glenloth chicken breast with summer vegetables and olive oil broth may sound relatively simple but the flavours of this dish are amazing. You can almost taste the passion that has gone into it. Similarly, the Linley Valley pork loin with parsnip, pickled apple and chard saute, and bacon cider sauce is a complete taste revelation. It doesn't matter what you dine on at Bistro Felix as every dish delivers just as much joy as the next. Complete your meal with a French cheese platter and some dessert wine and you'll have a dining experience you won't ever forget.

I thought the food was overworked and fussy with limited choices and the prices were outrageous. Jan 2009.

I agree, very over rated! Small intricate serves and big price tag, I certainly wasn't wrapped with the pretentious service either. There are better places in Subi.
