The Court Restaurant, The Court Hotel
Editorial
Internationally known as one of Perth's favourite gay-friendly venues, The Court was recently taken over by new owners Malcolm Day and Bree Maddox who have given the venue a major facelift. As the brains behind Adultshop.com, Malcolm and Bree have spared no expense in their renovation to reveal a sensational new venue with all the bells and whistles, including an outdoor pizzeria. Once a place for late-night party animals, The Court now offers a sophisticated space where you can enjoy lunch or dinner before hitting the dancefloor until the wee hours of the morning.
If you can peel your eyes away from the magnificent chandeliers long enough to view the menu, you'll be pleasantly surprised at what's on offer. Nice-priced burgers, sandwiches and wraps are substantial enough to enjoy for a light lunch or perhaps with a coldie in the ultra-cool beer garden. The spicy chicken burger may get you a little hot under the collar while the beer-battered snapper burger goes down a treat with chunky chips and aioli. The mains menu at The Court is uncomplicated, with all the favourite dishes you might expect to see on a pub menu. Traditional beef lasagne, risotto, chicken parmigiana, fish and chips, and reef and beef may be simple and unassuming but don't think for a minute they are without flavour. Just like The Court's clientele, nothing is bland or boring. The stage comes alive every Wednesday night as amateur drag queens strut their stuff in shoes that would make the Sex in the City girls weak at the knees. Other events include free pool on Mondays and roast night on Sundays. For an outing with food, fun and frivolity, The Court is sure to impress. All it takes is an open mind and a smile.
