Durty Nelly's
Editorial
Don't let the name fool you; Durty Nelly's Irish pub is less about dubious leisure pursuits and more about imbibing Guinness beer. Of course, if you do want to get a little dirty on the impromptu dancefloor, no one's going to stop you. Located on Murray street, known for its music stores and commercial enterprises, the pub attracts a wide variety of folk - from local business types to 20- and 30- somethings out for an evening of Irish tomfoolery.
Behind the bar, Durty Nelly's sport all the usual Irish brews - Guinness, Kilkenny and various ciders - plus a host of local and imported boutique beers. Prices are fairly comparable with other bars in this league, but here all drinks come with Irish hospitality! There are also regular drink specials for those who like to watch their budget. Wines are accessed via a meagre list of varietals, with Australia providing most of the vinos on offer. But when you're belting out another chorus of Where the Streets Have No Name, you're probably not going to care that your not clutching a glass of Grange.
Pub meals also bring in the herds, with steak specials every Saturday and Wednesday night. There's also a token list of Irish meals, like Irish stew and beef and Guinness pie.
