S& T's is one of those magical portals that transports you far, far away. Forget Northbridge, this could easily be a back alley in Bangkok. The stark white shop offers no thrills, though large photographic prints of chillies and the like add a dash of colour. The real fanfare comes with the food. Authentic flavours explode, igniting sparkles across your tongue, from the freshest pad thai with meaty prawns to a rich green curry utterly unlike the bastardised western version that's so prevalent. Raw salty crab and tom-yam soup also deliver. Warning, they love their spice! Even better, it's BYO and super-cheap.
