Harry's Bar
Editorial
What do you do if you're in Perth and miss the laneway bar scene in Melbourne or Sydney? You make your own. Harry's Bar may offer an up-market cocktail menu, booths seats and a relaxed atmosphere, but it's the purpose built laneway that distinguishes it from all the other west coast bars. Suitably so, the bar attracts a young, arts crowd and those after a no-frills affair.
Ok, so the laneway is more like a thoroughfare by the side of the building, but they've made an effort to give it a suitably urban edge. There's a large tiger mural, scattered seating and a DJ booth for your entertainment pleasure. Back inside, things are considerable more upmarket, with ornate wallpaper, professional bar staff and the aforementioned booths. There's also an outdoor courtyard in front of the building that's ideal for people watching on those balmy nights.
The drink selection is expansive, with a focus on cocktails. Aside from all the classics, Harry's has its own (very colourful) in-house specials. Don't be surprised if you see a sea of greens and reds in martini glasses lined up on the bar top. There's also a respectable list of imported beers, enough wine to go around and a fully stocked bar - everything you need for a decent night out.
