Grapeskin is the award-winning wine bar sister of Northbridge's iconic Brass Monkey, and a fantastic spot to sup on something spectacular.

Editorial

Grapeskin is a fantastic little spot tucked in neatly beside its Northbridge-based big sister, Brass Monkey. First and foremost the place is a wine bar, and the list is something spectacular. With well over 20 wines by the glass, and something more than 250 by the bottle, the choice is perhaps a little overwhelming. Good job then that the handsome and knowledgeable staff are on hand to guide you through it all.

In contrast, the short but perfectly formed menu won't have you scratching your head for hours, but the selected options will have you patting your tummy contentedly. The kitchen's put a lot of effort into matching up to the top gong wine list. There's a scrummy mix of tapas on offer - including chargrilled eggplant & zucchini, mini aranchini and Cajun whiskey prawns - as well as the traditional salads and tasty gourmet pizzas.

Grapeskin's settings are stylish, with marble and stainless steel the order of the day, so at least the locale will stay presentable while you descend into a grape-fueled haze. The crowd, as a result, tend to dress up a bit and at least feign an air of sophisticated glamour. Just sink into one of the red leather couches and set your mind to contemplating your next bottle stop.
