Geisha Bar
Editorial
I'm not a huge fan of misleading monikers and I have to say, I struggle to see what it is about this Northbridge club that bares any resemblance to the beautiful world of Japan's Geishas. The Space Invader arcade games present may just about qualify if they renamed the venue after Tokyo's Harrajuku girls - but not Geisha enough for my liking.
Silly name aside, this is one of the more popular haunts on Perth's less than abundant club scene, so you can at least be assured of a decent crowd of the fashionable young guns at the weekend. A fairly decent-sized dance floor for a somewhat small venue is surrounded on all sides by banquette seating, allowing for up close and personal time. The fixtures and fittings are a touch more glam than most of what the Northbridge area has on offer.
It's not really a cocktail sort of place, so best to stick to mainline spirits and beer. Various DJs spin everything from electro to retro, and everyone seems to be having the best fun with it all. Expect to queue at the weekends though. Still, they do say all good things come to those who wait. Maybe the Geishas will even show up one day.
