I love a good story, and any restaurant that hits upon explaining a little of the history and geography of the cuisine being offered up scores brownie points in my book. Tandoor on Oxford relays the history of Tandoor food, recounting tales of Northern Indian princes of Kashmir, Delhi and the Punjab, and the birth of the charcoal fired clay oven that creates such knock out flavour sensations. Having carved their mark on Oxford Street for ten years now, the gorgeous courtyard in particular is a great place to chill out on a hot summer's eve and satisfy your need for spice.
