Luxe Bar
Editorial
The PR folks who write blurbs for bars are some of the biggest big noters on the planet. I've lost count of the times I've walked into a place flying high on a glorious write up on the venues website only to realise that the place is, in fact a dump and a shoe box. Well not Luxe Bar. Possibly Perth's crowning glory in the style stakes, Luxe offers up exactly what it says on the tin - sheer unadulterated luxury.
This is no place for scruffy teens. The thirty-plus crowd can glam it up with the best of them, and almost has to so as not to be upstaged by the beautiful surrounds. Luxe indulges in lashings of class, from the opulent sofas draped with fur throws and golden cushions to the soft, velvety chocolate walls and the oh so flattering lighting.
The looks are backed up by the goods, with a jaw-dropping cocktail list. No corners are cut here, with post-mix banned in favour of bottles, ice cubes fashioned form pure filtered water and all juices freshly squeezed. It may not be cheap, but you're paying for perfection. The wine list's a corker too, with a taste for the extravagant including Bollinger and Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque on the sparkling side.
Fantastic DJs and a beautifully lit courtyard are the cream on this scintillating pudding. So glad rag to the max and be seen to be seen in this top notch scene.

The Luxe has a very suave, almost 70's lounge feeling to it. The cocktails are amazing, I definately recommend the Boston Ice Tea and the Broken Bramble. The bartenders seem to know what they are doing and you frequently see them dip a straw into the cocktail to check the quality of their work. At 18 I would definately be one of the youngest to visit the Luxe, but the place is always a mix of people in their mid-20's to 40's. I'd say the dress is anywhere between smart casual and night-on-the-town. Lovely place to visit, just don't expect to get seating!

Last weekend I went to Luxe Bar and I was refused to be served a drink because I did not say please. I strongly recomened the bar staff need to be taught commen respect. I had to leave the bar with my two girlfriends as I was extremely humiliated.

Very disappointing experience, the stuff and management acts like they are some world class entertainment and what they do is so over rated and also quite appropriate for mining mentality of Perth... wouldn't get back for sure...

This comment is to Melissa who had to leave the bar after being humiliated at the prospect of being refused a drink because she didn't say please. She blogs that the bar staff need to be taught common respect - well self respect is a good place to start and if you had used "please" and "thankyou", I am sure that your whole problem could have been avoided. Manners my dear, did you not get that message whilst growing up at home?
