Bar Orient
Editorial
There can be no denying that Western civilisation has always held a deep fascination for the Orient. From the food, the history and even the strange TV, intrigue has led us down the many paths of this inspiring culture. Well, in the heart of Fremantle you can find your own piece of Oriental paradise, at the aptly named Bar Orient.
A busy bar that attracts a steady crowd of eclectic but loyal followers, you'll more than likely find a reason to return after your first visit - be that for boutique and handcrafted beers, the cocktails (look out for regular specials) or the gastro menu of Asian-fusion delights. Or it might just be to grab a beer and park out side to watch the world go by.
But don't let the colonial facade fool you; weekends develop more of a club vibe, with top 40 and retro hits packing the dancefloor with boogying locals. During the week, however, the vibe is a little more relaxed, with afternoons and evenings being quite casual, but still busy. You'll find more than just beers from the Orient behind the bar, and the cocktail list favours fresh fruity flavours. There's also a decent wine list, should you wish to have something more civilised with your dinner.
