Paddy Hannan's
Editorial
Irish pubs might be a dime a dozen in Australia, but Paddy Hannan's has clearly made the extra effort. It may be located within the Burswood Entertainment Complex, but they've done a pretty good job of recreating traditional Irish pub ambiance. Sure, it's not as rustic as other venues, but the mix of modern and traditional decor actually works quite well and the place is genuinely inviting. There's also a beer garden for those days when a drink in the sun makes perfect sense.
Speaking of which, the drink selection is exactly what you would expect from an Irish pub, with a selection of Guinness, Kilkenny and imported ales available on tap. These are complimented with all the usual local options, and a scattering of wines and sprits. And lets not forget the Irish ciders. A traditional pub menu is available from the kitchen and the prices are all very reasonable. Irish bangers and mash, anyone?
While there's nothing quite like visiting an authentic Irish pub in the land of Eire, Paddy Hannan's is one of the better local interpretations. It's certainly a sea of calm and old-world charm amid the whirl of the Burswood Entertainment Complex.
