Offering cheap, satisfying food and cool kitsch, Thai Food to Go is a popular restaurant haunt for Windsor’s hungry students, workers and locals.

Editorial

While the name Thai Food to Go suggests this is a place purely for those running in to collect eat-at-home meals, there is plenty of incentive to dine in at this funky little diner. Crammed with eclectic kitsch including 50s tables and chairs, random posters, plastic flowers and zany light fixtures, this laid back restaurant offers classic Thai favourites cooked fresh to order. It does a roaring takeaway trade, but between lecture students, the after work crowd and those looking to fill up before a big night out on Chapel Street, this place is also usually filled with eat-in diners.

If they're available, start with the little betel leaf morsels that offer a burst of intense flavour and are a bargain at $1.50 each. Also refreshing are salads such as the par goong, larp gai or the staff favourite green pawpaw salad som tum. Thai Food to Go also offers popular dishes such as soups, coconut curries and jungle curry, laksa, pad Thai and Singapore noodles. While the wine list is limited, there are plenty of local and imported beers to choose from and the menu also boasts an incredible selection of whiskies for a restaurant of this size. With more than forty different tipples available, this alone may be reason enough for many to dine in at Thai Food to Go.

Tasty fresh quality ingredients. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The only draw back is the slow service at times, however I can't really complain that the food is so good it's popular :)
