Mothers Milk

Mothers Milk is the king of all things stylish in Windsor's kooky end.

Editorial

The original Mothers Milk is the king of Windsor, perched as it is at the cool end of Chapel Street's main drag. Boasting a covered area out front, with banquette seating, there's always a crowd of trendies smoking outside. Think trendies in a grungy way though, not the plucked and preened types that swarm further down toward Prahran.

Milk is a cool little venue that makes the most of it's tiny floor space. Warm hues envelope the venue, aided by a toasty open fire and plenty of comfy seating. A fantastically stylish black-tiled bar perched right at the back is positively bursting with spirits practically begging to be made into cocktails. Go on, dare the bar tender to make you something exciting. The signature Mamma's Milk is a knockout, featuring Zubrowka vodka, Licor 43 and tasty strawberries, but if that's not to your fancy, then there's a hedonistically huge list to choose from.

Just when you thought the place was small but perfectly formed, there's a fairly sizeable decked beer garden out back with heaps of bench seating. But it's the street seating that offers the best gawpers-eye view of the crazy passers by, so select you’re cocktail (or Asahi on tap) and park yourself there.
