With its Mexican theme, sand blasted walls, low lighting and Latino decorations adorning the walls, you might easily wonder if another shot of that top shelf tequila will have you seeing Madonna circa la Isla Bonita come at you waving a fan. Oh, that’s just one of the dancers.
But dancing is one of the highlights here at Destino. Although this is a small and intimate bar on Chapel Street, it’s surprising how much energy and mambo moves can fit in here on a busy night. With Friday Funk and Saturday Reggae, Destino caters to a broad range of musical tastes and the crowd love it almost as much as the range of Mexican beers on offer. The beers go perfectly with the house speciality of Tacos Dorados, so you can have your salsa on your cornchips on your hips (or in my case, both!)
Then there’s the enormous range of imported tequilas with more than 12 varieties on offer. And well may you ask if it’s a simply a choice between worm or no worm but, once you develop a taste for fine tequila, you soon realise the palate variety on offer is bigger than the number of countries in Central America. Then there’s the rums, the whiskies, oh and don’t forget the classic margaritas which will have you on your feet and dancing before you can say "¡Ándale! ¡Ándale! ¡Arriba! ¡Arriba!"

I went to Destino Latin Bar on saturday night and had a great time. The DJ was playing amazing latin music, to which everyone was dancing too..I also tried a few really nice cocktails...ill be back!

Destino is amazingly good. Unpretentious. Lots of hot guys. Great music. Great vibe. Great nights. Give it a go if you want to get away from your typically Chapel Street establishment and want to experience something a little more wholesome.
