Manhattan Restaurant
Editorial
The M may stand for Manhattan, but this Toorak treasure also throws up a little bit of magic and merriness. It has a measured international menu that'll have you mmmmmm-ing all the way home.
The salads are the highlight coming into summer, with fresh five spice calamari with mizuna leaves, pickled ginger and carrot with sweet soy and coriander dressing; and the simple, traditional yet elegant Israeli salad with diced spring vegetables, tuna, cottage cheese and a balsamic glaze being the deserved crowd favourites. If you're after one of M's manly mains then try the char-grilled rib eye or the M Burger with the lot for a memorable feed. A collection of Mediterranean pastas and shared plates, and a bargain BYO corkage charge, make it an ideal meeting place for a quick lunch or an after work drink and graze.
Located opposite Toorak Village and the Trak Centre, M Bar - previously Manhattan Bar - sets its scene downstairs with modest yet stylish European décor and big, wonderful mirrors, while the upstairs function space is versatile and elegant and caters for cocktail parties of up to ninety people or sit-down dinners for fifty. M Bar's pastas and salads start at $15 while mains start from $21. Contact the bar for function prices.
