The White Bar
Editorial
The main bar is all white (as you'd expect) with high decorative ceilings, and even with big bold splashes of bright red, there's a feeling of space and airy lightness that's rare on this busy strip. Big windows overlook the chaos of Fitzroy street below, positing you in a slightly cool and detached position, and happily so.
As you pity the poor commoners below, dive into the cocktail list and soak up a signature 'tail like the White Passion, a lychee-lover's delight with lychee infused vodka, lychee liqueur, passionfruit, a dash of apple and ruby red grapefruit, with more lychees thrown in for good measure. Mmmm… There's also a decent representation of cognacs, brandies and single malt whiskies to warm the cockles of your elitist little heart.
Wear your best threads, but bring your dancing shoes for grooving to the regular rotating DJs playing house, electro and progressive beats. The clientele is mostly young, well-dressed hipsters, with Friday night attracting the after-work suits who crowd in for half-price beer, spirits, wine and cocktails between 5pm and 9pm - with lots of serious boy/girl schmoozing going on. Complimentary finger food is included: a nice generous touch - encouraging responsible drinking is never a bad thing, and maybe something we need more of.
