Golden Fields is a strikingly slick and modern new Asian restaurant on the Fitzroy Street edge of St Kilda. Born from the loins of Melbourne foodie king Andrew McConnell, the swish sensibilities of Cumulus Inc. and Cutler & Co are evident form the outset. The beautiful marble bar is a dead giveaway, as is the onus on ordering lots of little dishes to share, with the emphasis on seafood. Think oysters, sea urchin flatbread and lobster rolls. More substantial dishes include mouthwatering slow roast lamb shoulder or snapper fillet with pickled wasabi and steamed clams, or you can grab a great glass of wine and sit at the bar with some nibbles. Sheer gold.
