Big Mouth
Editorial
Big Mouth has been through a variety of incarnations since the Art Deco edifice was completed in 1938. From second hand furniture store, to wax museum to cabaret club, it's worn a lot of hats, not to mention its earlier life as a tea garden before the building even existed. Big Mouth itself has been doing business for fifteen years now, and has earned its stripes in a fiercely competitive area.
Downstairs the wine bar and cafe has an enviable vantage point, with big folding windows opening out on the corner of bustling Acland and Barkly streets. Perfect for spending an afternoon of people watching that blearily blends into a late night of people perving. They whip up fantastic eggs and coffee for the early riser, and an equally scrumptious a la carte menu for evening diner. The wine list features over 20 top tipples.
Upstairs is a bit livelier, with a spacious almost warehouse like space playing host to live bands and late night drinkers. The locale means the crowd leans more towards the eccentric side, with a healthy dose of travellers breezing through. The beers are pretty cheap, with happy hour stretching from 4-7pm every night and $10 cocktails on Wednesdays, and meals can be had for $15. She's certainly cheap and cheerful, but there's real heart and soul to Big Mouth too.

Love this place, best looking venue in St Kilda. Great food especially love eating in the gorgeous dining room. Chicken Casablanca is one of the best chicken dishes I have eaten. Highly recommend.
