Velvet Bar

Velvet is a cocktail bar within spitting distance of Crown's roulette tables. Perfect for a flutter with Lady Luck.

Editorial

Velvet certainly is draped in red, though I'm not entirely sure it's velvet. There's a deep red carpet interspersed with sleek black tiles, and a similarly rich crimson drape curtain to the rear of the bar. Brown banquette seating curves along the back wall, while the sleek line is continued with what can only be described as golden pole dancers' poles marking the entrance.

Velvet is situated right in the heart of Crown Casino, on the main gaming floor itself, directly opposite a battalion of keenly-attended roulette tables. The thrum of Lady Luck is all around, so much so that it's almost difficult to hear the background music in the bar. Certainly gets you in the mood for a flutter anyway, and most of the clientele will be drowning their sorrows or celebrating their win.

The bar itself is a white marble affair with earthy flecked mosaic tiles. Spirits stand upside-down on a large silver arm more akin to the sort you get in fancy beer pubs. While there is a range of standard brews on offer, it's more about the cocktails here. A pendant chandelier lights the way while you choose which of the classy concoctions you'll plump for tonight.
