Tangerine Bar & Lounge
Editorial
Once past the doorman, you realise just how massive this place is. It's sort of an air hangar masquerading as a bar, really. Or perhaps an airport waiting lounge. It's one very big space indeed and, somewhat strangely, standing room only for the most part.
There is a wall of sofas along one side, and a shared bench table to one side of the lengthy bar, but other than that it's wide open. Though I was here early in the week, I'm assuming this means massive crowds at the weekend and a more club-like atmosphere. There's a small stage too for live music.
The real show-stopper is the decked terrace out front. Similarly massive, but far more populated with bench seating, it's the views that really seal the deal. Facing out onto the stunning CBD skyline across the Yarra, Tangerine is directly in front of those all-impressive massive fireball spouting towers. As the sun goes down over the city, it's a darned impressive place to sip on a glass of bubbles.
