The name may be directionally challenged, but the rough and ready Creole goodness at My Mexican Cousin is bang on. Fan’s of St Ali’s outstanding corn fritters and haloumi dish will recognise the name of this fantastic little watering hole tucked off to one side of the Recital Centre. The backers of this rather slick Creole-infused tapas bar heaven are an unholy collaboration of coolness, with St Ali’s Salvatore Malatesta joining forces with Sister Bella’s Jerome Borazio and Espotito’s Maurice Esposito. Tightly-packed wooden chairs and tables blend into the dark, wood-paneled walls and ornate metal pendant lighting, with an island bar street side spilling out onto the street. Cute and dinky, nevertheless expect big things from this cheeky new kid on the block.
