Attracting some of the best names in chamber and ensemble music, the diverse program of performances include the likes of pianist Piers Lane, Sydney's The Song Company with William Barton on didgeridoo, Australian Art Orchestra, the famous German boy's choir Thomanerchor Leipzig, chamber music by the Freshwater Trio, the Australian String Quartet, and the Australian and Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, among many more.
Based on the classic shoebox shaped European concert hall, with its gently raked circle and stalls, and split-level side balconies to ensure enhanced sightlines from every seat, the Centre's world-class technical facilities and contemporary design delivers unparalleled acoustics and a greater intimacy between performers and the audience.
The timber-lined interior also enhances the architectural character, while acting as a sound diffuser, blending the instruments to create a strength and clarity, with a rich, reverberant response.
