Eve Bar & Lounge
Editorial
Eve may be an award-winning nightclub, but if you want to experience it properly you're going to need to book a private room. Nearly two thirds of the venue's floor space is dedicated to roped off areas and, inevitably, that's where all the plushest couches, armchairs and decor can be found. Leopard print armchairs at that. Which is not to say the rest of the venue doesn't feature swish decor; you'll just have to enjoy it while standing upright - seating is at a premium through the venue. If you've read up on nightclub design you'll know this to ensure people keep their drinks in hand and knock back a few extra ??shandies' before the night is over.
Appropriately then, most of the action at Eve is centred around the bar and the adjacent dancefloor. You know, it's a dancefloor because it has one of those Saturday Night Fever floors with the flashing lights and all. That's where you'll find the girls in short dresses and heels. The guys (as guys are want to do) tend to stand around the dancefloor knocking back bourbon and cokes.
It must be said, Eve features one of the most impressive drink menus you'll find at a nightclub. And it definitely is a nightclub - anywhere that opens its doors at 9pm falls into the nightclub category. Anyway, as we were saying, the drinks menu takes in a selection of cocktails and imported spirits. Anyone who opts for a beer really isn't trying.
The crowd itself is a bit older than your typical nightclub. It's mostly 20-25-year-olds as opposed to wild eyed teenagers. If you fall into that age bracket and are looking for commercial club music, decent drinks and an attractive crowd, you'll love Eve.

We went to evebar on saturday night and despite being on the guestlist, were still charged entry as we 'weren't VIP'. The bouncers kept hassling everyone to move if they were standing talking anywhere near the entrance hall and the club was so over staffed that there seemed to be a bouncer in charge of each square metre of the club. Music lacked any creativity or originality and if you were not part of a private function, there was hardly any lounge area to sit. All the amazing photos on the website appeared to have been taken in the private function rooms, so the main club was unimpressive. Will not waste my money or my time on such mediocrity again.

It’s so refreshing to attend a well run night club. Arriving at the door of Eve we were warmly greeted by the most polite door staff I've ever encountered in all of my years of clubbing. That set the mood for the night with a crowd that was very easy on the eye, to the staff and the those cocktails!!! The DJ played all the right party tunes keeping the vibe of the night rocking until the early dawn. I heart Eve xx
