Not in Melbourne?

C-Duce

Get seduced by the funky R’n’B beats, super-delish cocktails and sumptuous décor at C-Duce. Not for those who need to go to bed early or drive heavy machinery the next day.

Editorial

Tucked in behind the Crown Casino, in the heart of the action is C-Duce nightclub. I was not so sure about that cheesy name, but I try to not judge a book by its cover. So I was pleasantly surprised to step into a very pleasingly opulent front lounge, all muted browns with cutting edge lighting design, funky low seating and plenty of room to shake your moneymaker - and of course great dance music that evolved as the night went on. Fridays is all funked up Miami R'n'B, and Saturday nights are sexy house and commercial dance.

The crowd is young, well-dressed and sassy - mostly a hetero crowd with lots of straightened hair and attitudes to match. Don't forget to bring comfortable shoes girls - dancing in bare feet whilst holding your heels is always a bad look, and something you can only get away with at the Melbourne Cup, but even then just barely.

After 10pm, when things get really pumping, this place is standing, or rather dancing room only. The bar serves a wide selection of local and international beers, a short, but concise wine list and then there are the cocktails to really get your night going. I indulged in an old-school Kir Royale, consisting of champagne with blackcurrant liqueur.

Regular acts include international dance artists, along with drum and bass, Latin, reggae, salsa. Check their Facebook page for more details of latest acts.
