The Collection
Editorial
The Collection has something of the north side or southern Windsor shabby chic to it, bringing a touch of the styley grunge to what can sometimes be a little ladi-da sterile Richmond.
There is a definite theme here, with squishy red sofas, dark wood floor and plenty of red accents, from the lighting, to the street-side chairs to curtains and feature walls. It gives the place an almost cheeky rouge, cabaret feel.
This naughty under current is ably aided by a simply fantastic cocktail list. That abundance of spirits lining the wall behind the bar is not for show, you know. The list is exhaustive, and the acolytes flock here for their poison chalice.
Try a Mary St. Hurricane with Cuban rum, homemade grenadine, lime juice and fresh passion fruit for a creole classic, or a Bobby Burns for something a bit hearty, packed with Scotch, sweet vermouth, Benedictine and Angostura Bitters. Happy hour stretches from 4-7pm weekdays and from 2-7pm on Saturday afternoons.
As if you weren’t already sold, they do fantastically tasty tapas morsels too, including Saganaki with charred lemon and Turkish bread and roast duck pancakes with cucumber, spring onions and plum sauce. There are also baby pizzas, and saucily sweet Spanish Churros.
