The Cherry Tree Hotel
Editorial
The Cherry Tree Hotel is open 7 days a week and is a great spot for a few relaxing drinks after work or that long cosy Sunday lunch.
The simple and minimal interiors are relaxing and pleasing to the eye. The combination of raw timbers, leather and timber furniture and white walls mean there’s no ugly clash of colours, styles and eras. The Bar, separate lounge and bistro areas are spacious and well lit with lots of natural light during the day.
At the bar you will find a fantastic selection of mostly Victorian brews on tap such as 2 brothers, Bridgeroad and Boatrocker. The bottled beers reach out a bit further with the inclusion of some imported brews such as Corona, Grolsh, Peroni and Tiger but nothing too exotic. But the Emphasis here is on the Local and interstate small breweries. There’s also a considered selection of Australian and New Zealand wines from all the top regions.
If you’re heading out for lunch or dinner you’ll certainly not be disappointed here. There is a separate menu for the Bistro and the bar. The Bistro offers some tasty options such as seared Australian Brown Trout with a drizzle of lemon and fennel butter or there’s the pan-fried Lamb Backs-trap with smashed new potatoes and spinach with Tzatziki. Prices for mains vary from around $18 to $30.
Next time you’re out and about near the Richmond/Cremorne area, veer off Church Street and check out the Cherry Tree. It’s definitely worth a look in.

After waiting over 30 minutes for the majority of our orders to arrive, one of our party had to wait a further 30 minutes for his. During this time there were no apologies from staff, who would actually snap back in response to any queries. Very poor service. Additionally, prices are rediculously disproportionate to both the quality and quantity of food provided.
