You may have the niggling feeling that you've been here before the first time you enter The Smith on Prahran High Street. All exposed brick walls, parquetry floors, soaring ceilings and huge, black-framed windows, it's a slick new venue which used to be the somewhat more grungy ETs. Gorgeous bar staff wear tartan waistcoats that match the rather cute espresso machine, and the front bar plays host to a growing, trendy crowd, with more formal dining to the rear and a dinky paved courtyard. Taxi alumni Michael Lambie (head chef) and Scott Borg (restaurant manager) are also joined by sommelier Alex Owens and Der Raum's Josh Begbie is on cocktails. The food matches the venue's flare.
