Sure it’s a public pool, but there’s plenty of fabulous eye candy and impressively toned bods showcasing elaborate tattoo work to make a visit quite the cultural adventure during Melbourne’s long hot summer. A playground for the young and fabulous, and hangout for celebrities when in town, there's plenty of action to be had – including of course, the odd swim.

If there is a pool in heaven, it's the Prahran pool. The sunshine dances and sparkles on the crystal clear water of the brilliantly blue-tiled outdoor 50 metre pool. Kids laugh and play in the fenced off, shaded wading pool and whiz down the slippery slide, which is so tempting for adults! Snack at the fantastic kiosk in between lazing on the large grassed areas, sunbathing topless on the upper sun-deck banana lounges or checking out the talent strolling by while perched on the decking.

Could someone post current or 2011 open hours. And is there hot day policy?
