Mulatta
Editorial
Close your eyes at Mulatta and you could swear you were in a little family-run trattoria in the back streets of Rome or Naples. The candlelit, linen-draped tables add a classy, intimate atmosphere, while a retro poster collection decorates the exposed brick walls and traditional Italian melodies playing in the background lend rustic charm. The friendly service can verge on chaotic when this place fills up with eager diners, but it all adds to the authentic experience as you enjoy Mulatta’s artisanally thin pizzas which focus on simple, classic combinations in true Italian style.
The menu hosts an extensive range of more than 20 pizzas to choose from. If you enjoy the classics, order the Margherita which presents soft pillows of bocconcini and aromatic basil leaves on rich tomato-based sauce, or go alla Romana with smoky Virginia ham and earthy mushrooms. Delicious and traditional hand-made pasta and mains such as steak with gorgonzola sauce or veal scaloppine will have you reminiscing about your last Italian exploration and perhaps planning a new one with your dinner guests. Stay firmly in the culture with a chilled glass of Prosecco or a gutsy Chianti from the wine list, and finish simply and sweetly with imported Italian gelati in truly amazing flavours such as panna cotta and zabaglione.
Mulatta offers not only to satisfy your hunger for authentic Italian flavours but also to transport you to Italy in classic style that will have you returning again and again.
