R Bar
Editorial
A sophisticated Euro gem sitting smack on the bay is the Italian restaurant and bar, R Bar. The newly developing Port area has become a popular destination for Melbourne's ever-hungry night owls, eager for a new booze den to lounge around in. Once you get past the smell emanating from Rex Hunt's fish shack down the street, the outdoor seating at R Bar takes on an irresistible quality as afternoon drinks turn into ??Oh God, who is this laying next to me?!'
A satisfying mix of modern, clean lines and simple architecture means that neither the furniture nor the decor make demands of your senses, letting your eyes relax on the finer aesthetics present - your fellow drinkers. There are also a number of rooms to plant those gym-sculpted buttocks in, meaning the bro you knock back at the bar doesn't have to be a humility lesson for the rest of your night (?Psst, Sharyn. He's looking at you again.').
And you can't go past the huge windows at the bar's front, offering unsurpassed views of the world's most livable city's habour. Watching the sun go down as gulls circle overhead is a joy afforded to those in the know, and those who make their second home at R Bar. Sure, you may want to take out a second mortgage to finance that 6th bottle of Veuve, but when the moon eats your eye like a big pizza pie ?

The cuisine has been changed to Japanese fusion food. However, it still remain the quality and service there.
