As if the name didn’t give it away, Kitten Club is a swanky, retro-minded oasis right in the CBD. Beyond the attraction of good company, great food and better cocktails on Level 1 (not to mention that Powder Room , the Galaxy Space on Level 2 features live music, cabaret, and other entertainment. Comedy Festival events are likely to set up shop, and Eddie Perfect hosted a tribute to the late Melbourne jazz pianist Will Poskitt here. But predominately the Galaxy Space is a regular stop on the city’s bouncy funk/soul circuit, hosting a slew of established names doing originals and covers. It’s the kind of place where you dress sharp and dance up a storm.
