Shanghai Village Chinese Restaurant

This vividly decorated restaurant offers an extensive menu of simple, Eastern cooking, with a variety of meat and vegetable stir-fries, seafood and soup dishes. It's hard to pin down exactly what makes it so good. Probably the apparent chaos on a busy night which thankfully encourages an eclectic crowd and seemingly speeds up the service.

I eat here all the time, great value for money and super fast service. One downside, once I found piece of plastic in a dumpling .. haven't been back since but great food!!!

My workmates and I cannot make it through a week without religiously visiting this restaurant. The steamed vegetarian and fried beef dumplings are the best you'll find in Melbourne. The only problem is the good word is obviously spreading because weekday lunch can be extremely crowded. Worth the wait though.

Had some Szechuan style fried chicken ribs, fried pork dumplings and steamed beef today for lunch. Washed them down with a couple of tsingtao's - brilliant lunch. This has become a weekly ritual from a friend and I. Far superior to Camy's (for those Chinatown dumpling fanatics out there!)
