Morgans At 401
Editorial
Ideally located near the corner of Collins and Queen Streets, Morgans at 401 is situated on the ground floor of a heritage-listed building on one of Melbourne's most prestigious streets. Essentially a gallery and events centre, ideal for conferences and functions, Morgans also houses a cafe and bar. Wander through the spacious gallery and exhibition area admiring the unique and interesting arts and ceramics before settling into the cafe for some quality modern Australian fare.
Daily specials might include a bacon-wrapped chicken breast with lemon zested spinach and pumpkin mash, or grilled crispy skin barramundi with sauteed mixed vegetables and a lemon butter sauce, served with a complimentary glass of house wine. Alternatively, pick and mix from the a la carte menu with options such as toasted Turkish bread with parmesan, mozzarella and tasty cheese mixed with fresh herbs and grilled until golden; Thai fish cakes with ginger and lemongrass served with coconut rice, herb salad and lime; risotto of prawns, scallops, fish and calamari, finished with a rich Napoli sauce, basil and baby spinach; or the Morgan's beef burger grilled with bacon, cheese, tomato and a fried egg in a toasted wholemeal roll and served with house-cut wedges. Morgans offers a concise wine list of varieties from throughout Australia and New Zealand.
