Metropolitan Hotel
Editorial
As soon as you step in to the Metropolitan you know you're going to be well looked after. This place oozes perfection and professionalism. The sleek surrounds with perfectly balanced drop lighting and earthy tones are instantly relaxing. Splashes of red here and there provide just enough colour to entertain, and they manage to combine that rare feat of modern-chic, spaciousness and warmth. It is overall a supremely pleasant atmosphere.
The bar and bistro are perfect for after work drinks and business lunches. This is convenient for the bevy of lawyer-types in this area. The large windows allow light aplenty which is a contrast to many of the CBD's watering holes which can be a little on the dark side.
One of the most intriguing features of The Metropolitan is the beer taps themselves. Large bronze sculptures that, if nothing else, let you know how serious this place is about their beer. Beer drinkers are well catered for here and while you can get a pot of Carlton, why not lash out and try one of the other nine beers on tap. From Japan's Kirin to Holland's Heineken to our own James Squire Pilsener, amber liquid lovers will be happy.
The grape lover will also delight. The wine list offers some interesting choices such as the Alsatian Pfaffenheim Riesling and the David Traeger Shiraz from Nagambie.
The staff are friendly and efficient, making this hotel a great all rounder.
