Lupino is a modern Italian restaurant that serves traditional menu items in a refreshingly new way. When, this side of the 1970s, was the last time you encountered a melanzane parmigiana? Or a spaghetti marinara. Or bombolini even? Outside of an Italian Mama's kitchen you'll very rarely see the Lupino-style in Melbourne restaurants. Just because it's traditional doesn't mean that it's cheap - Lupino is kind of up market but casual in its very own bistro way. The service is worth paying a bit more for and experiences like this are, more broadly, priceless.
