Rarely a month goes by when I don't read yet another article on high urban density, bemoaning a lack of space in our fine city. Truth be told, compact and over friendly with your neighbour need not be a bad thing, as a rash of gorgeous little venues like Von Haus or Little Red Pocket can attest. Il Bacaro is a perfect example and a grandaddy of the scene at over ten years offering an intimacy that's matched perfectly by artfully presented and shockingly good Italian cuisine. I defy anyone not to fall madly and passionately in love with this join, from immaculate service, to adorable surrounds and inspiring food. If you have room, the panna cotta is to die for.
