EQ Restaurant + Bar
Editorial
Located within the Arts Centre complex, perched on the Yarra's Riverside Terrace and with a splendid view of the CBD skyline, EQ Cafe and Bar rightly boasts one of the most spectacular spaces in Melbourne. Thankfully, it doesn't keep it all to itself, offering a restaurant, bar and multiple function areas that make the space as versatile as it is sought after. St Kilda Road suits trudge over for after-work drinks, while theatregoers make use of EQ's dinner and show package, including two courses and a glass of wine, before an Arts Centre performance. For those meeting a tourist friend at Flinders Street Station, EQ should be your first stop.
The modern Australian menu, updated in March 2009, offers classic pizza and pasta dishes, with highlights being the homemade spinach gnocchi with venison, fig and wild mushroom ragu, and the Tuscan thyme-roasted chicken pizza. Gluten-free pasta is available with all of the sauces. The mains menu collates traditional and original meat dishes using exceptional, high quality produce, and includes a delicious and earthy char-grilled kangaroo marinated in pepper and fennel seeds. There is an extensive collection of wines by the bottle and glass, as well as a handy selection of aperitifs and a smashing cocktail list that includes all the classics. Enjoy!

EQ seems to have new owners, they have added new furniture including booths to the terrace. Great for afternoon drinks.
