Elephant & Wheelbarrow

Come winter nothing beats the feel of an English pub. The Elephant & Wheel Barrow, while it is a themed pub, manages to escape most of the tackiness that often comes with such establishments. Beer lovers will be most happy with the range of ales. On tap there’s English beers such as Tetley's and the high alcohol content, Old Speckled Hen. A strong range of Australian beers is also complemented by a few Irish brews and a smattering of European beers. There's a hearty range of pub grub with fish and chips, parmas and steaks. A friendly vibe tops it all off.

While it might be fragranced by the scent of stale cigarettes and beer soaked carpet, this city stalwart does have some points in its favour. For starters, the beer is great, and the food is cheap and cheerful, with lots of classic pub meals on the menu. This is probably the kind of venue that?s more fun if you?re outside on the street, and certainly better before 6.30, when the drunken young businessmen start to get salacious. It?s not a terrible place to stop, just not for too long.

this place is a totally awesome experience with it's range of girlie drinks such as barcardi breezers and vodka twists. the live bands pump out great tunes such as rick springfield, jessies girl, and other songs that are great to dance and shout along to. the age group is varied and we have met a range of people that we have kept in contact with. we recommend you stop at this pub and give it a try it's totally happenin, you'll love it. PS. you can't go past that wicked name.
