E Gusto
Editorial
Situated on the Southbank promenade with breathtaking views of the Yarra River and city of Melbourne, E Gusto is a comfortable restaurant that serves authentic Italian cuisine. Open seven days a week every day of the year, unlike many of its neighbouring restaurants, E Gusto's kitchen doesn't close between meals so you can pop in for a late lunch, an afternoon antipasto or an early dinner before a show.
For lunch start with an entree of bruschetta topped with marinated sweet peppers, fried garlic and Danish fetta, followed by an open beef burger with mixed lettuce, tomato, Spanish onion, Swiss cheese and bacon, served with chips. For dinner start with an entree of lightly floured and fried calamari bound in a chilli, mint and peanut salsa, finished with peppered rocket, followed by a barbecued chicken breast served with polenta, sauteed spinach and mushrooms, drizzled with capsicum coulis. Finish with traditional homemade tiramisu, dusted and served with almond praline, or the Gippsland cheese selection served with fresh fruit and water crackers. The extensive wine list of Australian-based wines changes monthly and also boasts a cellared wines selection available for sale.
