Cafe Andiamo dishes up Italian pizza, pasta and risotto classics in a fast-paced restaurant atmosphere in the centre of Melbourne’s CBD.

Editorial

Located on Degraves Street, one of Australia's most famous cafe strips, Cafe Andiamo offers traditional, quality Italian food in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. An impressive selection of pasta, risotto, pizza and salad dishes are served up without delay in a bustling atmosphere crowded with city suits, students and tourists. Highlights include the pasta Calabrese with deliciously salty olives, chilli, garlic and parmesan, and the Anatra risotto with a combination of roasted duck, sauteed mushrooms and baby spinach. Pasta and risotto starts at $15 while larger steak and meat dishes start at $18. A selection of cakes and pastries arrive fresh daily and the coffee is robust and strong, making Cafe Andiamo the perfect restaurant to enjoy a business luncheon or to relax for a pick-me-up in the afternoon. Wine is also available by the glass.

Andiamo's space opens out onto the street and includes a raised indoor dining area that provides a slight buffer from the hectic Degraves traffic, and an alfresco dining section that is shared with the nearby competition. Tables are limited, especially outside, so move quickly if seats come up. The staff are fast-moving but always friendly, and provide a city-life atmosphere that is modern and enjoyable.

this place is awful more than bad. i had a risotto, while im having it, my friend found a hair in there. so i called staff and told them we don't want the food. then they asked us " a u sure its not your hair?" shocking! it was long blonde hair and im an asian. we finished rest of our food anyhow and we got the bill that the risotto charged on. i asked them "do we have to pay for the risotto?" they said "yes cuz we don't have any cooks who has a long hair" so i said "we haven't even finishied". they said "so i asked you to but you didnt want it" ㅡㅡ; is this for real? are all austrailian stand this service? or they treat us that way because im international who can't speak english well?" they ruined my inspiration of austrailia. is that good for you? in my country this kind of service will never accepted. shame on you. don't think its just me and my friends. it could be all the internationals. plz love your country more
