Bond Lounge
Editorial
For many of its patrons, Bond has the kind of modular elegance yet to date. Fusing Kubrick's Odyssey with a little VIP young Hollywood, this place has the sort of interior appointed to make all within it feel a little special.
For a study in the positive effects of design head to Bond. Everyone does seem to feel a little special. After 11pm on a weekend evening, there is only a gussied up few who hesitate to dance to party beats.
Those old enough to file a tax return, be warned. This place definitely skews younger. At the time of writing, the Friday RnB event Chorus is packed with excitable under-grads. Before 10, however, Bond does adhere to the promise of its name and provides a great backdrop for a quiet or, at least, only moderately noisy drink.
As for the drinks: these mixologists know their science. As you might reasonably expect from a joint that takes its name from cinema's most celebrated martini drinker, the martini is spot-on. And, despite, the youth of the late night dancing crowd, a number of aged cocktails take pride of place at this bar. The fashion in music, hair and body makeup might change at Bond across a single weekend. The caprioska, however, stays the same.
