Editorial

Behind the modest and narrow Flinders Lane frontage of Bluestone Restaurant and Bar lies an absolute treasure trove dedicated to drinking and dining. Named for the solid, long-lasting material that this heritage-listed building is constructed from, Bluestone offers a collection of beautifully decorated spaces, each with its own unique ambience. Warm and welcoming, each distinct area within Bluestone is swish enough to host a special occasion, yet still relaxed enough for a satisfying get-together with friends.

From a grand dinner in the private dining room to a pizza and glass of vino in the downstairs bar, Bluestone delivers with its contemporary menu and excellent service. Accents of Middle Eastern flavours make an appearance in dishes such as Harvey Bay scallops with a parmesan and herb crust, dressed in capsicum salsa and North African-spiced baby octopus with a chorizo and butter bean salad. The bastilla, a traditional Moroccan filo pie filled with spiced duck and candied pistachios hits the spot, while the vegetarian mezze platter is another dish that is well worth ordering - expect to enjoy an excellent assortment of little tastes, from stuffed zucchini flowers to babaganoush and harissa-spiced vegetables. The wine list is particularly well-chosen, with a range of boutique labels that complement the food perfectly.

I would be interested in some feedback on this restaurant. I went there sometime ago for a business lunch and quite enjoyed the experience. I would appreciate some recent feedback.

Fantastic new lunch menu with a few old favourites and some new ones too. The menu for dinner is very romantic and perfect for both special ocassions and corporate dining. Highly recommend. Jazz downstairs in lounge (with dinner)every Thursday night is also worth a visit, delicious wood-fired pizza's and cocktails.
