Orsini Restaurant
Editorial
Nibble on a starter of bruschetta with Roma tomatoes, basil and Spanish onion, before tucking into an entree of traditional Italian minestrone soup with vegetables and borlotti beans. Follow with duck breast and field mushroom risotto with green beans, mongibello olives and red wine jus; or a main of oven-baked rack of lamb infused with truffle oil, served with a potato fondant and glazed vegetables and finished with a white wine jus. For dessert, sample the homemade tiramisu cake with an amaretto and coffee anglaise, or the triple layered creamy chocolate and vanilla parfait with Frangelico and macadamia nuts. The pre-theatre menu is excellent value (available daily until 7pm) with one course and a glass of wine a mere $13.90, or two courses and a glass of wine $23.50 (the latter also offered as a weekday lunch special). The good-sized wine list offers a diverse selection including some strong Italian contenders.
