After decades of mod-Oz, pan-Asian mediocrity, Brunswick Street is just beginning to emerge as a culinary contender. This is thanks in no small par to the 2011 opening of a joint that restores flavour to Fitzroy. There are mercifully few selections available on a menu that seeks to slowly seduce its clientele. There’s no immediate razzle-dazzle upon reading of charcuterie and pâté. But, the proof of the pudding, and the terrine and the nicoise and the brulee, is scertainly in the eating. Brix is a welcome, unfussy but particular addition to the strip.
