Idibidi

places|vic|fitzroy|idibidi
The cutesy name of this cafe is somewhat misleading, as it is as 'itty bitty' as an airplane hangar. The cafe fare can be matched with something from the bar.

Editorial

Start the day the idibidi way with breakfast until 11.30am; choose the idibidi poached eggs on toasted casalinga with bacon and sausage or go for hot Belgian waffles with maple syrup, banana and cinnamon with a choice of cream or vanilla ice-cream. Brunch is available from 11.30am till 6pm; try the soup of the day with warmed Turkish bread or the chicken and prawn laksa with Asian greens, egg noodles, coconut milk, tofu and coriander leaves.

Dinner then takes over with a selection of "littles" and "green" options but if your appetite permits head straight for the "bigs" selection. Choose from a variety of pizza options including roasted tomato and caramelised onion with garlic, basil oil, pitted olives and mozzarella, or choose the fetta and rosemary rubbed lamb loin on seared green beans, spinach and roasted capsicum with lemon, basil oil and balsamic. Finish with a selection of cakes and tarts, also available throughout the day, and a steaming cup of coffee.
Daily specials are offered, written up on various wall-mounted blackboards throughout the cafe. A small wine list of Australian varieties is available as well as a selection of bottled beers.
