East Brunswick Club Hotel
Editorial
This unassuming pub has one of the most loyal followings of any venue in the area. Their secret is that they’ve managed to get the balance right. While some pubs seem to struggle with the notion of being both a food and music venue, the East, has tapped into what their demographic wants perfectly.
Let’s not mince words, the clientele here is young. This is student youth culture in all its glory. And in keeping with what student youth have been about forever, these folks are vegan eating, alternative music loving, bolshie’s - and most of them will stay that way for a good two years.
That said, the atmosphere here is fun and relaxed. Besides the fact that you will see some of the best and brightest musos, both local and those visiting from abroad at the East, it’s also a great spot to watch the game - the public bar has retained its old school feel which is always a good thing.
There’s pool tables and a beer garden that keeps the plethora of rolly smokers happy, and it’s also a good place to cool down – it can get pretty packed some nights.
Tuesday’s music trivia night is a favourite as is the food menu which offers a celebrated range of vegan/vegetarian options.
For those who remember The Punters Club in Fitzroy, this is a close as your gonna get.
