While staying true to its Greek heritage, Saganaki also features dishes infused with a Modern Australian twist, using only the very best local produce. The colour scheme is warm and inviting with wood grain and marble textures complimented by shades of red, copper and brown.

Editorial

In my travels abroad I never made it to Greece, instead falling in love with a Brit and returning to my homeland with him in tow, but when I conjure up images of what it must be like, Saganaki Greek Cuisine and Grill always springs to mind. It might not have the whitewashed walls, but the staple blue chequered table cloths are there as is the lapping water glistening across the way. The extensive menu is dominated by traditional Greek fare with the occasional modern Australian influence creeping in.

Start with the saganaki trio of kefalograviera (Cyprian haloumi and soft kasseri brushed with egg, flour-dusted and flambeed with Metaxa), or dolmades (vine leaves stuffed with rice and fragrant herbs). For main sample the keftede grilled mixed mince pattie with kasseri cheese and served over skordalia mash with tomato and herb salsa, or the moussaka (layers of potato, freshly ground mince, eggplant, wine and bechamel).

Alternatively, for larger groups, try the Slow Roast Feast, cooked for a minimum of 15 hours it includes suckling pig slow-roasted with sage prunes and honey.

Finish with the chocolate molten pudding drizzled in orange and pink peppercorn sauce, served with double cream. The good sized wine list boasts a large Greek selection with handy food matching recommendations.

Had split the bill tokens and were told we could order from all the menu. After the waiter took our order we heard the manager shout at him. Manager came over to explained that we could only order from the half-price tuesday menu which wasn't obvious. We saw another couple argue over this also after they got their bill. The experience was soured by the manager continuing to shout at the waiters and waitresses over any mistake. Also the food quality didn't justify the high prices.

There was 1 menu between 3 people, no wine list, service was terrible even tho there was an abundance of waiting staff at hand and the food was discusting. I have told a number of people about my disappointment with this place and the poor menu choices.

Think I overdosed on the Saganaki here. I ordered a second plate of it cause it was SO GOOOD. Left very full but very satisfied. Great range of Ouzo on the menu. Next time I will try the slow roast, saw quite a few people eating that.
